Obstacles and Dreams

I was really inspired by Randy Pausch’s talk.  The most memorable quote that he said was, “Remember, the brick walls are there for a reason.  The brick walls are not there to keep us out.  The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something.  Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough.  They’re there to stop other people.”  As I look back on my life, I see that the best things that I’ve accomplished so far have been things that have been behind brick walls.  One example of this would be getting my degree.   I’ve hit many brick walls along the way, but each time I keep coming back to it when given the opportunity.   While it has taken longer than I thought it would I feel that it is a blessing.   Because it hasn’t come easily and I’ve had to wait, I have a greater desire to learn .   My motivation for going to school now is not just to get the grades and...

Even though I feel this will greatly benefit the people around me, I have to move forward with a clear vision of what I want to accomplish.  I have always loved landscaping.  My father was a landscape architect and I loved working wi...
